Oregon man to be arraigned in fatal stabbing in Michigan

MONROE — An Ohio man has been charged in the fatal stabbing last week of David O'Konski in Erie.

Justin Ellerbush, 32, of Oregon, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Monroe County District Court on one count of manslaughter. He is being held in the Monroe County jail.

Mr. Ellerbush and an Erie man were arrested after the Wednesday night slaying of Mr. O'Konski, 48, of Toledo. Investigators said he was stabbed multiple times in the torso and head with an sharp spikelike tool.

The Monroe County Prosecutor's Office said the other suspect was released Sunday from the jail. The stabbing occurred outside his Preston Street home.
