Slippery roads Tuesday morning apparently were a factor in several crashes, including two with injuries, in the greater Toledo area, authorities said.

State highway patrol troopers and medical emergency crews responded to two injury crashes in west Lucas County during the morning rush hour.

At least one person was trapped in wreckage after a vehicle overturned about 7:12 a.m. on Shaffer Road near State Rt. 295 near Swanton.

A pedestrian was seriously hurt when he was struck by a vehicle about 7:20 a.m. on West Bancroft Street at Schwamberger Road in Spencer Township.

Victims in both crashes were transported by medical crews within about 20 minutes.

Swanton is about 15 miles southwest of Toledo.
