4 kilos of cocaine seized during traffic stop in Erie County

PARKERTOWN, Ohio — State troopers seized four kilos of suspected cocaine valued at $400,000 Wednesday during a traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike south of Sandusky.

The driver of the vehicle, Errick D. Phillips, 40, of Lyndhurst, Ohio, was charged with possession of cocaine and trafficking in cocaine.

According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, troopers stopped a pickup truck for speeding about 6:15 p.m. on the turnpike in Erie County. Troopers said a drug-sniffing dog alerted to the vehicle, and the suspected cocaine was found during a probable cause search.

Mr. Phillips was taken to the Erie County jail.
