$400,000 of cocaine seized in traffic stop

PARKERTOWN, Ohio — State troopers seized four kilos of suspected cocaine valued at $400,000 during a traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike south of Sandusky.

The vehicle driver, Errick D. Phillips, 40, of Lyndhurst, Ohio, was charged with possession of cocaine and trafficking in cocaine. According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, troopers stopped a pickup for speeding about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday on the turnpike in Erie County. Troopers said a drug-sniffing dog alerted them to the vehicle, and the suspected cocaine was found during a probable-cause search.

Mr. Phillips was taken to the Erie County jail.
