Bairdstown mayor found guilty of sending sexual text message juveniles

BOWLING GREEN — The mayor of the Wood County village of Bairdstown pleaded no contest and was found guilty Friday of disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile.

Christopher Barringer, 52, is to be sentenced March 25 in Bowling Green Municipal Court. Mr. Barringer admitted he forwarded a text message with an image of male genitalia to a 13-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy.

He faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine when he is sentenced by Judge Mark Reddin.

Bairdstown, with a population of 130, is two miles east of North Baltimore.
