Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about the shooting death of a woman nine years ago.

Karen Jones, 26, was shot Jan. 17, 2002, in the 1500 block of Nebraska Avenue. The mother of four, who was staying with her grandmother in the 1600 block of Nebraska, died of a single gunshot wound in the chest, authorities said.

Ms. Jones left her grandmother's house, where she dropped off money for her then-8-year-old daughter so the girl could catch a bus to school in the morning. She was going back to her boyfriend's house, when she was shot as she approached the front door. She collapsed in the doorway and was taken to Toledo Hospital, where she died an hour later.

Anyone with information about her death is asked to call the Crime Stopper program, 419-255-1111.
