Sylvania Twp. man free after sex case is tossed

The criminal case against a man Sylvania Township man once accused of sexual assault was dismissed in Lucas County Common Pleas Court Monday.

Joshua Bey, 29, of 7344 Kest Lane was released from bond after Judge Gary Cook dismissed the case at the request of the prosecutor's office.

“I am very thankful that the evidence of my innocence has become public,” Mr. Bey said afterward. “My prayers are for the victim's family.”

Mr. Bey had been in custody for about six months followed by time on electronic monitoring for charges that he sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl. The case was dismissed after additional evidence was examined.
