Fending off the February freeze

February's below-normal temperatures — Friday's high was 24, which is 10 degrees below normal for this time of year — have been especially tough on area wildlife. Warmer conditions are in the forecast, however, with highs of 32 Saturday and 39 Sunday. After a chance of snow showers Saturday night, skies will be mostly cloudy to partly sunny at least through Tuesday.
