A murder charge has been dropped against the man accused of killing Scott Fitzgerald Harris, whose body was found Monday morning in an East Toledo alley by two children on their way to school.
Travis Jones, 22, who was accused of killing him, is being released for lack of evidence, police said Friday afternoon. He was ordered held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $750,000 bond at his arraignment Tuesday in Toledo Municipal Court.
Chief Mike Navarre said the investigation into the killing continues.
Mr. Harris’ body was found at about 9 a.m. in a pool of blood in a snowy alley in the 800 block of Stillman Street.
