  • April Elizondo, a member of Girl Scout Troop 11134 at Shoreland Elementary School in Point Place, scoops water from a pond at Toledo Botanical Garden with fellow Scouts Kaylee Jackowski, left, and Grace Iseler and mother-chaperone Natalie Roberts, right, in search of micro-organisms. Eleven members of the troop took advantage of the break in the weather this week to search for micro-organisms in the water.

Jackie Roberts, left, and Hannah Zerbey, also members of Troop 11134, are amused by some of the organisms they found in the pond water as they view them under a microscope. Members of the troop, who are fourth graders at Shoreland, are working on their ‘water wonders' badges.
