A tornado warning was canceled by 11:46 a.m. Wednesday after a storm system capable of producing a tornado raced through Wood and Lucas counties.

The warning was issued by the National Weather Service at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday for eastern Lucas County and northern Wood County after doppler radar indicated rotation in a severe storm system.

There were no reports of a touchdown, but a funnel cloud was spotted in Perrysburg, police confirmed at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday.

The cloud was spotted near Roachton Road and State Route 25 — police are now looking for damage at 5 Point Road and State Route 25, authorities said.

There are reports of scattered power outages in the area. Toledo Edison said 1,500 customers were affected, mostly in Wood County.

Sirens sounded briefly in Lucas County.

Flood warnings remain in effect for the Maumee River at Grand Rapids and Waterville and for the Blanchard River at Findlay.
