Bryan man killed in fatal train crash

MONTPELIER, Ohio — Authorities have identified a man who was struck and killed by a train Sunday night in Williams County as Randy Stoy of Bryan.

Mr. Stoy, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene, according the Williams County Sheriff’s Office. Dr. Kevin Park, the Williams County coroner, determined the cause of death as injuries sustained in the incident, which was ruled non-suspicious, sheriff deputies said.

The man was on foot about 10:50 p.m. when he was struck by an eastbound Norfolk Southern train at a grade crossing at Williams County Road 8-50 a half-mile north of County Road J, about 2 miles southwest of Montpelier.

Montpelier is about 55 miles west of Toledo.
