Waterville post office to remain in present location

The U.S. Postal Service on Thursday reached a lease agreement with the owner of building where the Waterville post office is located, meaning the office will not be shifting any of its operations to the Maumee Post Office.

All services will remain at the same location at South Third Street in the community’s downtown business district.

Postal Service spokesman David Walton said Thursday afternoon that he was awaiting exact details of the lease agreement but said he expected more information to be announced later in the day.

Officials had said on Tuesday that the Waterville post office would be shutting down because they could not reach a lease agreement with the building’s owners.
