Pedestrian killed by train in Wood County

LUCKEY, Ohio — A pedestrian apparently was struck and killed by a train late Wednesday on the CSX Transportation tracks near State Rt. 582 in Wood County’s Troy Township, east of Luckey, Wood County sheriff’s deputies confirmed Thursday.

The incident was reported by a 911 caller about 8:45 p.m., deputies said.

CSX authorities and Wood County Coroner Douglas Hess were not available for comment Thursday morning.
