Man’s body found floating in water near Kelleys Island
7/4/2011SANDUSKY, Ohio — A Waterford, Mich. man who authorities believe drowned in Lake Erie, just north of Kelleys Island, over the holiday weekend was identified Monday by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, 53-year-old Daniel Abel, was found floating in the water at about 2 p.m. Sunday. His 26-foot Trojan boat was found near the body.
Erie County dispatcher Chris Morris said authorities do not suspect foul play.
The body was taken to a funeral home in Port Clinton, said Erie County Corner Brian Baxter. An autopsy was expected to take place Tuesday.
