6 hurt in S.R. 12 head-on crash
7/23/2011FOSTORIA, Ohio -- Six people were hospitalized after a head-on collision Friday on state Route 12 southwest of Fostoria in Hancock County.
The crash occurred at 3:23 p.m. when a 2010 Kia driven by Andrew Kimble, 28, of Fostoria, went left of center and struck a 2001 Saturn driven by Helaina Todd, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
Mr Kimble’s car overturned after the collision and authorities had to cut him free of the wreckage, the sheriff's office reported. He was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital with unspecified injuries.
Mrs. Todd and her four juvenile passengers were taken to Fostoria Memorial Hospital.
The sheriff’s office did not know the condition of any of the injured. All were wearing setbelts.
The crash is under investigation.
Fostoria is about 40 miles south of Toledo.
