3 kids at football practice in N. Toledo hit by SUV
7/30/2011One of three children hit by an SUV while gathered for a youth football practice at Joe E. Brown Park in North Toledo was in serious condition Friday night.
Akayla Burt remained hospitalized at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Another child, Neil Goodlow, was listed in fair condition at the hospital Friday morning, but as of Friday night, was no longer listed as a patient. Akyia Burt was also taken to the hospital but was not there Friday. No ages were available. A police report said Akayla Burt had a large swollen left eye while the other two had no visible injuries.
Kenya Modisett of 1617 Cone St. was cited after the Thursday night incident. “Ms. Modisett began to pull off in her auto and failed to observe three juveniles sitting in the grass in front of her auto,” a report said.
