Just in time for the Labor Day weekend, gas prices in the Toledo area have been on a steady rise since Tuesday, according to the Web site gasbuddy.com.
The average price yesterday was just under $3.70 a gallon, compared with $3.61 Tuesday — and just over $3.50 a gallon Aug. 21.
Prices ranged from $3.44 a gallon at the Speedway on Conant and East John streets in Maumee to $3.79 at the BP on South Detroit and Glendale avenues, according to the volunteer spotters who report to gasbuddy. Many Toledo-area stations were at $3.75 a gallon Friday.
In Bowling Green and Findlay, gas ranged from $3.72 to $3.75 a gallon, according to gasbuddy. In Port Clinton, prices ranged from $3.59 to $3.75 a gallon. In Monroe, gas prices ranged from $3.75 to $3.88 a gallon.
The national average in Ohio was $3.70 a gallon, while the national average was $3.66 a gallon, gasbuddy said. A year ago, the average price in Toledo was $2.71 a gallon.
