The Ohio Department of Transportation has begun a three-week public comment period concerning a proposal to widen I-75 to three lanes each way between Perrysburg and Findlay.

Construction may begin as soon as 2015 and primarily would involve the existing freeway’s median for about 31 miles between the I-475 junction in Wood County and the Hancock County Road 99 interchange.

Gathering public comments about the proposal is a part of the federal environmental review process, department officials said in a statement.

Comments should be directed to Michael Stormer, district planning engineer, at 317 East Poe Rd., Bowling Green, Ohio, 43402, or via email at michael.stormer@dot.state.oh.us The comment deadline is Oct. 14.
