Cancer survivor Dugan Smith, 13, is a Friday guest on Anderson Cooper’s new talk show, Anderson.

Dugan of Fostoria was diagnosed with bone cancer and had his right leg amputated. On the hour-long show, which can be seen at 4 p.m. on WUPW-TV, Channel 36, Cooper discusses with Dugan the surgery that saved the teen’s life and how he overcame the subsequent challenges.

Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia, the youth’s favorite player, gives the boy a signed baseball and one of his official jerseys and appears on the show to meet Dugan. Cooper also surprises Dugan and his parents with World Series tickets to Game 4, which is dedicated to Stand Up To Cancer.
