Matthew Davis, who died in a wrong-way crash on I-75 Saturday night, succumbed to his injuries within seconds, according to the Lucas County Coroner's Office.

The autopsy done Tuesday shows Mr. Davis died of multiple injuries to his head and chest, Dr. Cynthia Beisser said.

Mr. Davis was a passenger in Dawn Lerma's vehicle when it was struck head-on by a car traveling the wrong way, about 10:50 p.m., police said. The car was driven by Christopher Jones, 35, of Toledo. He is listed in critical condition in Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

Ms. Lerma, 40, of Toledo is listed in fair condition. Also hospitalized are Bryan Davis, 9, Toledo, who was in fair condition, and Nikole Lerma, 15, and Lawrence Moser, 14, both of Toledo, who were listed in serious condition.

The crash occurred in the left north-bound lane of I-75 just south of the Phillips Avenue exit. An investigation is ongoing.
