Depending on which neighborhood they live in, Toledoans have as little as one week to get their leaves raked.

The city of Toledo’s annual leaf collection program is to begin Nov. 7 with pickups on all streets in the 43613 ZIP code area and on uncurbed streets in 43623.

As work progresses, signs will be posted in each neighborhood listing scheduled collection dates.

Only loose leaves are to be collected. Crews will not pick up general yard waste such as brush or sticks, nor will bagged leaves or grass clippings be collected.

Residents are urged not to mix sticks or branches into leaves because leaf-collection equipment could be damaged.

Leaves should be raked to the edge of the pavement on uncurbed streets and just over the curb on curbed streets.

Some neighborhoods may get a second leaf-collection pass at the end of the program, if time and weather permit.

Otherwise, any leaves raked after pickup may be mixed with residential solid waste for refuse collection.
