Local architecture projects honored

    The Toledo chapter of the American Institute of Architects has honored four projects with its annual Toledo design awards. The four were chosen from 12, representing eight local firms, entered in the 2011 competition.

    Recipients of honor awards were the University of Toledo's Savage & Associates Complex for Business Learning and Engagement, designed by Munger Munger + Associates of Toledo, and the Upper School of Maumee Valley Country Day School, designed by MacPherson Architects Inc./2MA of Toledo. Citation Awards went to the Sylvania school system's Northview High School Performing Arts addition and renovation, designed by SSOE of Toledo, and Plate 21 restaurant, 3664 Rugby Dr. in South Toledo, owned by Sandy Spang and designed by M2 Design Services Ltd. of Maumee.
