Groups in northwest Ohio are taking part Sunday night in a worldwide candlelight vigil to honor children who have died.
The 15th annual event is a project of The Compassionate Friends, a group that helps families with grief after the death of a child at any age, according to the group's Web site. Candles are lit at 7 p.m. local time across the globe.
The Josh Project will play host to the vigil starting at 6 p.m. at Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 640 Indiana Ave.
The northwest Ohio chapter of The Compassionate Friends will hold its vigil from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Toledo Children's Memorial, Jackman Road and Eleanor Avenue.
In Port Clinton, the Ottawa County chapter of the group will hold its vigil at 7 p.m. at Veterans Park on Monroe Street.
In Lima, the west central Ohio chapter will begin its vigil at 5:15 p.m. with a potluck dinner at First Assembly of God Annex, 1575 E. High St.
In Upper Sandusky, the Wyandot county chapter will begin its event at 5:30 p.m. with a potluck dinner in the basement of John Stewart United Methodist Church, 130 W. Johnson St.
