Whether you prefer a Christmas tree decorated with whimsical ornaments or one that’s more traditionally decked out, you’re bound to find one to your liking at the Holiday Parade of Trees fund-raiser at the Toledo Club.

Forty trees, 20 ornaments, and three wreaths are ready for bidders, who will find a mix ranging from the merry to the unusual and unexpected.

The Toledo Humane Society tree, for example, has spray-painted pet treats as ornaments and a collage of pet food bags serving as a skirt.

And who but the Imagination Station would manage to get a science lesson inside the ornaments on its tree?

When you see the Quinn Family & Wells Fargo Advisors’ tree, don’t think your eyes are playing tricks on you. It really is suspended from the ceiling — upside down.

The Toledo Molding & Die, Inc./Boys & Girls Clubs tree is perfect for anybody with a sweet tooth: Its ornaments are red-and-white candy canes and lollipops in varying sizes.

One eye-catching beauty is the ABC Action News/Salvation Army tree that has large teal and creamy white ornaments sprinkled with glitter. The Hylant Group/Toledo Club’s white tree with red ornaments is another dazzler. The Blade’s Christmas tree boasts a mix of blue and white ornaments.

Bidding on trees donated from area individuals, businesses, associations, and nonprofit groups begins at 3 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Nathalie Helm, executive assistant, said anyone can bid. Trees must be picked up no later than Jan. 7, when the club collects checks. Funds go to local charities.
