FCC: WUPW Ch. 36 Fox Toledo sold

Fox Toledo, WUPW-TV, is being bought by a subsidiary of American Spirit Media for more than $22 million.

American Spirit Media, based in Charlotte, is owned by Thomas B. Henson. Mr. Henson owns other TV stations across the country but representatives from American Spirit Media could not immediately provide a list of its holdings.

WUPW was owned an operated by LIN Media, which acquired the station in 2002.

“LIN Media filed an application with the FCC to assign WUPW-TV’s license to WUPW License Subsidiary LLC, an indirect subsidiary of American Spirit Media,” a statement from the company read.

Calls to American Spirit Media were not immediately returned.
