Steam rising from a tanker trailer in east Toledo caused a brief emergency early Friday, authorities said.

There were no injuries and no evacuations, according to the Toledo fire department.

Hazardous materials crews responded to the scene of what appeared to be a spill just after midnight at 1601 Miami St. It turned out to be nonhazardous steam rising from an overfilled tanker, Toledo Fire Lt. Patrick Lanahan said.

There was no word on citations in the incident.
