Employees of Tony Packo’s restaurants became temporary workers of TP Foods LLC on Friday when the assets of the chain known for their Hungarian hot dogs and special chili sauce were transferred to a new owner.

Packo’s restaurants, which has been in receivership since August, 2010, are open and will remain open, said Christopher Parker, an attorney for Steve Skutch, the receiver. Employees received a letter Saturday from Mr. Skutch informing them of the transfer of Tony Packo’s, Inc. assets to TP Foods and its owner Bob Bennett.

According to the letter, employees who want to remain with the company will be invited by TP Foods plans to apply for regular full-time or part-time employment.

“The receiver and Mr. Bennett wanted a seamless transition as possible,” Mr. Parker said Sunday. “It’s the intentions of the receiver not to interrupt business operations and effect employee lives as minimal as possible.”
