1,928 pills found during traffic stop

Authorities said they found 154 savings bonds valued at $15,400

FINDLAY — A Toledo man and a woman were arrested Friday in Hancock County and found with nearly 2,000 illegally possessed prescription pills and more than 150 savings bonds, authorities said.

Michelle Hollman, 32, and John Heaton, 31, were stopped by the Ohio Highway Patrol at about 1:12 a.m. in Findlay on County Road 300, near U.S. 224, for a marked-lanes violation.

Both suspects were charged with receiving stolen property.

Troopers said they also charged Ms. Hollman with driving under the influence and possession of a scheduled substance. Authorities said they found several pills and drug paraphernalia in Ms. Hollman's possession.

The vehicle the pair were in was then searched and troopers say they found a large bag with 1,928 pills and 154 savings bonds valued at $15,400.

According to the patrol, the pills and the savings bonds were determined to be part of a burglary investigation in Toledo.

Both suspects were taken to the Hancock County jail. If convicted, Ms. Hollman could face 9 1/2 years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine; Mr. Heaton could face up to 1 1/2 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
