I-75 crashes back up afternoon traffic

Two crashes backed up traffic Friday afternoon on northbound I-75 near downtown and in North Toledo, authorities said.

One crash was reported about 3:35 p.m. on I-75 near the downtown exit.

A one-vehicle crash was reported several minutes earlier between the I-280 junction and the Ottawa River Road exit. One person from that crash was taken by Toledo Fire Department crews to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

Police were investigating the circumstances of the crashes. The severity of the injuries was not yet known.
