Woman killed in car-train collision
3/8/2012NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio — A Findlay woman was killed in a car-train collision Thursday night in this southern Wood County village, authorities reported.
Sue. E. Fleckner, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a release to the Wood County Sheriff's Office.
Village police and sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash about 10:44 p.m. at the CSX-Mitchell Road crossing between Eagleville Road and State Street/State Rt. 18 on the west edge of North Baltimore. Ms. Fleckner was driving a Ford Escort when it was struck by an eastbound train at the crossing, where there are gates and warning lights, according to the sheriff's office.
There were no passengers in the car and no other reported injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Wood County Sheriff's Office.
