Fostoria hires woman as safety service chief

FOSTORIA — City Council has approved hiring Allyson Murray as the city’s first female safety-service director.

Ms. Murray, who will be paid $61,000 a year, replaces former police Capt. Jimmie Dieter, who has been interim safety director for newly elected Mayor Eric Keckler.

Ms. Murray, who has a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and is working on a master’s degree in organizational development at the University of Findlay, is employed at Northern Manufacturing Co. in Oak Harbor.
