BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University plans to hold a memorial service Friday for the three students killed in a wrong-way crash on I-75.

BGSU President Mary Ellen Mazey said in an email to students, staff, and faculty Monday that “A Celebration of Sisterhood” would be held at 6:30 p.m. on the lawn in front of University Hall. It is to conclude with a candlelight vigil.

Monday was the first day students have been to campus after a week-long spring break.

Rebekah Blakkolb, Christina Goyett, and Sarah Hammond were killed March 2 when a wrong-way driver struck their car head-on on I-75 just north of Bowling Green about 2:15 a.m. The girls — all members of Alpha Xi Delta sorority — were on their way to Detroit Metro Airport to catch a 5:30 a.m. flight to the Dominican Republic for a spring break vacation.

Ms. Mazey said condolences may be sent to sympathy@bgsu.edu. There are also memory boards set up in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union for handwritten messages, and those will be displayed at the service.
