Perrysburg plans expansion of city recycling program

4/10/2012

Beginning April 23, the city of Perrysburg will expand its curbside recycling program so residents can recycle more items, including flattened cardboard, paperback books, and shredded paper in see-through plastic bags.

For the first time, the city will also accept items including paper gift bags, nonmetallic wrapping paper, and aluminum trays.

Residents can also recycle plastics labeled No. 4, No. 5, No. 6, and No. 7 in addition to the items labeled No. 1 and No. 2 that the city currently accepts.

Those types of plastics include items such as deli containers, cottage cheese and margarine tubs, laundry detergent containers, and juice bottles.
