Andy Morrison finished second in the feature category for the photo of Jerica Stewart and her escort Ron Pettaway dancing during the 47th Annual Debutante Cotillion.

Lori King won third place in the sports-picture category for a selection of photographs of the University of Toledo women's basketball team playing in, and winning, the WNIT tournament.

Jeremy Wadsworth was honored with an award of excellence in the sports-feature category with his photo of Jacree Rayford's reaction after his team, Rogers High School, lost to Dayton Thurgood Marshall in a Division II state semifinal basketball game.

Fifty-five visual journalists from across the state submitted 832 entries in the 61st annual news photography contest judged last week at the Columbus Dispatch.
