Sylvania Twp. trustees approve pay hikes for employees

The Sylvania Township trustees today approved pay raises for road department and service department employees.

The 12 workers will get a 2 percent raise this year retroactive to Jan. 1 and a 1.5 percent increase next year. The raises are the same as those approved for police and firefighters. The employees are represented by Teamsters Local 20, which already had approved the agreement.

The trustees also approved a 2 percent pay increase for 21 nonunion township employees, including department heads.
