FINDLAY — A woman suffered “minor” injuries after two vehicles struck head on in Marion Township.

The crash, reported today at about 7:06 a.m. on State Route 37, east of Township Road 234, sent Jennifer Hites, 40, of Findlay, to Blanchard Valley Hospital where she was treated for her injuries. A hospital spokesman did not have any information about Ms. Hites being admitted there.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reports that Ms. Hites was driving a 2011 Honda Accord northbound on State Route 37 when her vehicle was struck by another driven by Walter Savukinas, Jr., 38, of Findlay, who was southbound on State Route 37, as they approached a curve in the road.

Deputies say Mr. Savukinas lost control of his vehicle, adding that the roadways were wet, causing him to drive left of center and strike Ms. Hites.

Both vehicles went off the right side of the road and sustained heavy front-end damage.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Deputies did not report any injuries to Mr. Savukinas, who was cited for operation without reasonable control.
