Sylvania Library offers activity for disabled adults

Harbor 'Quest' program partners with Sylvania Library for people with disabilities. The Sylvania Branch Library and Harbor Behavioral Health Care have teamed up to provide a program for adults with developmental disabilities.
The "Quest at the Library" program last week had participants using Tacky Glue, fabric markers, sequins, flowers, and foam to decorate tote bags. Monthly gatherings at the library will focus on different activities.
Susan Schaefer, branch manager, said the program is important because it helps a part of the community which may be underserved.
Sylvania celebrates Arbor Day with tree planting. In honor of 30 years of the Arbor Day Foundation designating Sylvania a Tree City USA community, residents gathered Friday to take turns planting two sugar maple trees on the grounds of Heritage Village a shovelfull of dirt at a time.

Township Police Chief Robert Boehme said he and his staff are reviewing when to use a technique in which a police vehicle bumps the back of a suspect's vehicle to spin the runaway driver to a stop.
