Maumee resident Alison Clark, front center, who will be a dealer at Hollywood Casino Toledo, mingles at a "meet and greet" for employees Thursday at the SeaGate Centre.

With its tentative opening day slotted for later this month, Hollywood Casino Toledo will hire about 100 additional workers within the next few weeks, executives said today.

The open positions are primarily for bussers, sous chefs, cooks, and others in the food and beverage department as well as some supervisors, said Chrystal Herndon, the casino’s vice president of human resources.

Mrs. Herndon announced the job openings during an employee job orientation this morning at the SeaGate Convention Centre.

The best way people can apply is on the casino’s Web site at www.hollywoodcasinotoledo.com/careers.

The average casino employee’s pay is $40,000, which includes base salary and tips, she said.

The $320 million casino, located on the Maumee River in East Toledo near Rossford, is tentatively scheduled to open May 29. The casino will employ slightly more than 1,300 workers. About 75 percent of the jobs are full-time and 25 percent are part-time, Mrs. Herndon said.
