3 maintenance workers get raise
5/9/2012TEMPERANCE -- Bedford Township's three maintenance workers are getting a raise.
The pay hikes were included in a new three-year contract the board approved at its regular meeting last week. Under the terms of the pact, the highest paid general laborer, with five years experience, will receive $17.77 per hour this year, retroactive to Feb. 1, $18.13 next year, and $18.49 in 2014. The vote was 7-0.
In other business, the board named Monroe County Sheriff's Deputy Scott Hedger the township's Sheriff's Deputy of the Year. He is assigned to the township's substation.
