Green outdoor lighting at Flower Hospital draws ire of Sylvania neighbors. Residents near the hospital have complained about lighting along the roofline, saying it is distracting and makes the building look like a casino.

The neighbors have asked for the lighting to be removed, but hospital owner ProMedica contends all proper permits were granted. Sylvania's zoning office declined to say whether the lighting meets city regulations. Mayor Craig Stough said he is reviewing the matter.

Addison's disease can be treated in dogs, a local veterinarian says. Dr. Robert Esplin of SylvaniaVET, in his regular column, addressed symptoms and treatment of a serious canine disease. Northview senior chosen to be Pitt majorette. Becca Berland, who is to graduate from Northview High School next month, has been selected as a majorette for the University of Pittsburgh Panther squad in the fall. She has been a Northview Wildcats majorette all four years of high school and was a co-captain her junior and senior years. She also participated in the Sylvania Twirl Stars travel league.

Strong list of acts, performances at Sylvania's Centennial Terrace. Centennial Terrace has something for all age groups on the way this summer, operations manager Ken Katafias said.

At least 13 acts are scheduled, from a music festival to high school bands to national acts to big-band ballroom music. Acts include Colbie Caillat and Gavin DeGraw, Counting Crows, and Chicago.
