Green outdoor lighting at Flower Hospital draws ire of Sylvania neighbors. Residents near the hospital have complained about lighting along the roofline, saying it is distracting and makes the building look like a casino.

The neighbors have asked for the lighting to be removed, but hospital owner ProMedica contends all proper permits were granted. Sylvania's zoning office declined to say whether the lighting meets city regulations. Mayor Craig Stough said he is reviewing the matter.

Northview senior chosen to be Pitt majorette. Becca Berland, who is to graduate from Northview High School next month, has been selected as a majorette for the University of Pittsburgh Panther squad in the fall. She has been a Northview Wildcats majorette all four years of high school and was a co-captain her junior and senior years. She also participated in the Sylvania Twirl Stars travel league.
