BOWLING GREEN -- The Wood County Board of Health recognized three local health professionals at Thursday evening's board meeting.

The health district's Public Health Impact awards were presented to Stan Korducki, president and chief executive officer of Wood County Hospital; Dr. Sheri Thomas, a developmental and behavioral pediatrician at the hospital's Center for Child Development, and Mike Gerber, on-scene coordinator for emergency and remedial response with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

The awards are given each year to individuals or organizations that have contributed significantly to improving public health in Wood County.
