TECUMSEH, Mich. -- Two Tecumseh High School students have been expelled from school surrounding allegations by authorities that they made marijuana-laced brownies and sold them at school.

Tecumseh police Thursday were expecting to arrest the second of two teenage boys, a 16-year-old, with a 17-year-old teen arrested Wednesday, authorities said.

The boys made the brownies and then the younger boy sold them at school May 2 for the older boy, Officer Thomas Gilbert said.

Each boy was charged with manufacture and delivery of narcotics, he said.

"They were working as a team," Officer Gilbert said.

The older boy, who is considered an adult under Michigan law, was booked into the Lenawee County jail pending arraignment.

The younger boy was not arrested as of late Thursday, but a juvenile pickup order had been issued for him, the officer said.

The pair were suspended for 10 days, from May 3 through Wednesday by Griff Mills, the school principal, as mandated by the school rules, according to Tecumseh Public Schools Superintendent Michael McAran.

On Monday, the school board expelled the older boy for a year, until the start of the 2013-14 school year, when he can apply for readmission.

The other boy was expelled for the rest of the 2011-2012 school year and put on one year of probation, starting at the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year, Mr. McAran said.

Police did not release the names of the boys.

Tecumseh is about 40 miles northwest of Toledo.
