BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green has been recognized as a Tree City USA, marking the 32nd time the city received the designation.
A delegation from the city, which included members of the city’s tree commission, the mayor, and the city arborist, attended a recent northwest Ohio awards ceremony in Mercer County.
To receive the distinction, a community must have a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, a community forestry program with annual expenditures of $2 per capita, and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.
