Sauder free for residents of Lucas Co.

ARCHBOLD -- Lucas County residents are invited to help make beaten biscuits, shell some beans, play old-fashioned games, and see real farm animals as part of activities at the Historic Sauder Village in Archbold this weekend.

Lucas County residents will receive free admission to the village from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today with a driver's license or other form of identification.

Guests can visit with costumed guides in historic homes, farms, gardens, and community shops. Craftsmen will be at work in the village, including the glassblower, potter, and blacksmith.

Visitors can spend time in the Natives and Newcomers area and explore Pioneer Settlement or Little Pioneers Homestead for children.

Sauder Village, Ohio's largest living-history destination, opened in 1976 and welcomes about 100,000 guests each year, village officials said.
