Man, 20, from Pontiac, Mich., drowns in Monroe County quarry

MONROE -- A 20-year-old from Pontiac, Mich., Terence Lee Reid-Lance, drowned in the old France Stone Quarry in Monroe Township on Wednesday night, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's office.

A 911 call at about 9:25 p.m. reported that a man had disappeared below the surface of the water while swimming with friends. The victim's body was found well over an hour later.

At 10:38 p.m., emergency workers recovered the body in an area  about 25 feet from the edge of the quarry, where water is about 35 feet deep,  

The former quarry is on Dunbar Road near Hull Road.
