Perrysburg, Sylvania dish out sweets, retreats

    It's difficult to eat at restaurants if you have food allergies or if you're trying to eat healthy. But it's even more difficult if you have both of those strikes against you. Organic Bliss, a deli and bakery in Sylvania, might just be the remedy to having dietary restrictions.

    On the morning I visited, the staff was friendly and the clerk explained to me the various options and how they have the ability to make baked goods for people with food allergens. They also have gluten-free baked goods and lunch options for those who have to watch for certain ingredients, already available.

    Romeo, my devil dog, was born on Valentine’s Day.Go figure.

    My strong-minded basset hound is an emotional eater.

    When I’m gone for too long, he gets anxious and eats the carpet, absolutely shredding it.

    There are patches on the floor in my Perrysburg apartment, signs of his hunger pains.

    To appease Romeo, I often take him on long walks. It makes him less anxious. It’s also a good way for him to burn off all those carpet calories.
