Policing problems mar closed swimming area at Three Meadows Park in Perrysburg

Three Meadows Park has attracted plenty of visitors and problems since its swimming area was shut.
Feces was wiped over the bathroom walls. There were reports about people rough-housing or drinking alcohol and leaving broken glass behind.It’s part of a growing headache — one that’s been escalating for three years — at Three Meadows Park in Perrysburg, officials said.
The man-made lake officially closed as a swimming pool three years ago because of stark attendance.
The lake attracted only 10 or so people a day, considerably less than the city’s competing pool at Municipal Park, so city officials decided to stop paying for lifeguards and promote Three Meadows as a fishing spot instead.
But ironically, since then, the lake has been more popular than ever.
Some days, up to 300 people come to Three Meadows, located off Three Meadows Drive near Sandusky Street.
And with that comes more problems, so much so that city is beefing up police patrols to the lake starting this week.
