ERIE -- The Monroe County Sheriff's Office was looking Sunday for the suspect in an assault, armed robbery, and home invasion in Erie Township.

Deputies were called about 9 p.m. Saturday to a home in the 8000 block of Suder Avenue after an intruder assaulted the homeowner with a blunt object, stole cash, and fled in the homeowner's vehicle.

The victim was treated at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo for injuries to his head, neck, and rib areas.

The suspect, a brown-haired white man between 25 to 30 years old and about 6 feet, 5 inches tall with a slender, muscular build, was wearing a white tank top, blue-jean cut-off shorts, and athletic shoes.

After abandoning the victim's vehicle, the suspect is believed to have been picked up by a black male about 30 years old with a slender build, deputies said.

That man was seen driving south on Suder Avenue toward Toledo in an older blue Chevrolet or GMC pickup with a gray or silver stripe along the bottom and possibly lawn mowers in the truck's bed. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the detective bureau at 734-240-7530.
