The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested 16 people Wednesday during a Wood County warrant sweep.

Another eight people with felony warrants were found to be in custody in Ohio and Indiana jails or prisons, said U.S. Deputy Marshal Christopher Hodge.

All 16 people arrested were wanted on warrants out of Wood County but are living in Toledo, Mr. Hodge said.

All of the suspects are being held in either the Lucas County or Wood County jail.

The sweep started at 6 a.m. Wednesday and authorities served their last warrant at 4 p.m., Mr. Hodge said.

“All things said and done, we arrested or located 24 felons wanted by Wood County in less than 10 hours or so. I think that’s pretty damn effective,” Mr. Hodge said.
